Just recently, state lawmakers in New York approved a sweeping new set of reforms to the state’s laws on sexual harassment designed to offer new protections for victims, both in the workplace and when they report inappropriate behavior.
The Chamber's sexual harassment prevention program will address the new laws and the recent mandate to provide sexual harassment prevention training to employees on an annual basis.
To help employers meet the new training requirement, the Chamber will be holding
A NYS COMPLIANT SEXUAL HARASSMENT TRAINING SESSION FOR BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS. IT WILL BE HELD AT SUNY ERIE NORTH CAMPUS.
Lisa Coppola of The Coppola Firm will conduct the training from every aspect: how to spot sexual harassment, how to stop it, what are your rights as a victim and what is your liability as an employer?
A panel discussion following the training will include Frank LoTempio III, a defense attorney at LoTempio Law Group and a representative of the HR firm, Employer Services Corporation.
Upon completing the training, participants will receive a copy of their signed acknowledgement that the NYS mandate has been met for the employer to keep on file.
