A Candid Conversation Around Women's Health
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October)

Have you ever felt like your doctor wasn't listening to you or didn’t take your concerns seriously? Or minimized your symptoms to stress, being over tired or even weight?

Your feelings are real. Apart from reproductive health, women were basically left out of medical research until the 1990s (they didn't even test female mice). Prior to the 1990s, research on disease, treatments, vaccines, cancer, etc. did not have to include females in the testing. So unless it had to do with making babies, other aspects of women’s health were largely overlooked. Whatever medical testing discovered about men, they applied to women.

But we know women are very different from men in many ways including their biology. So what are the implications to decades excluding women from medical research?

Join us as we discuss the research, its implications and experiences in navigating women’s health issues.
