WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – Canal Bank, a division of Chemung Canal Trust Company, today opened its first full-service office in Western New York. The new location is located at the corner of Main Street and Cayuga Road in Williamsville.
“This historic building will serve as a regional financial center, offering personal, residential, small business and commercial banking services,” said Anders M. Tomson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemung Canal Trust Company. “We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for us here in our new location,” Tomson said.
Vincent M. Cutrona will serve as president of the Canal Bank division. Cutrona brings more than 25 years of banking experience to Canal Bank, most recently working for Uniland Development Company in Amherst as the Director of Capital Markets. Prior to his time with Uniland, Cutrona worked in the commercial banking division of Evans Bank in Williamsville for over 15 years.
“We are excited to support this vibrant community. Chemung Canal has a 190-year history of growth, resilience, hard work and commitment, and when I think of the families and businesses we will serve here as Canal Bank, I see many similarities,” said Cutrona, a native of Western New York. “There has been significant disruption in the financial-services industry over the last several years, and we feel our level of community commitment and long-term stability will be an asset here,” Cutrona added.
The facility, located at 5529 Main Street, was designed by Sutton Architecture, renovated by R.E. McNamara, Inc., and is being leased to Canal Bank by the Zaepfel Development Company in Williamsville. Chemung Canal Trust Company currently operates 32 branches throughout New York and Pennsylvania, including seven branches in the Capital Region that operate as Capital Bank.
