AMHERST, NY – Amherst Chamber of Commerce President/CEO A.J. Baynes announces that two Chamber members are sponsoring scholarships that will allow young professionals to enroll free of charge in the Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business Leaders 2020 Leadership Program.
Bryant and Stratton College and Bonefish Grill have agreed to cover the tuition cost of the program, recognizing the value of nurturing our next generation of leaders and promoting programs that assist this demographic in expanding their knowledge base and increasing their network.
“The Chamber has helped groom more than 100 future decision-makers since this program began three years ago,” says Baynes. “We thank Bryant and Stratton College and Bonefish Grill for understanding the importance of this program for our region’s continued growth and helping us recruit more young men and women to be the leaders of tomorrow.”
The EBL Leadership Program runs for nine months beginning in January 2020. It includes classroom training on a variety of workplace issues, networking opportunities and mentoring from the EBL Leadership Board which is comprised of young professionals representing firms from across the Buffalo Niagara region.
“It was a great experience,” says Jeffrey Hoffman, an EBL graduate. “I enjoyed meeting new people and the networking aspect. The presenters gave me great insight in how I can improve as a person and as a professional.”
“It was eye-opening,” says Kenneth Liszewski of the EBL Class of 2019. “The presentations taught me a lot of things I would not have learned in the office because you are just too busy getting through the day.”
The applications for the EBL Leadership Program and the scholarships can be found on the Amherst Chamber of Commerce website: https://amherst.org/emerging-business-leaders/.
